I didn't have a clue what to expect with this movie because I hadn't heard much of it. I knew the actors in it so I was assuming it was decent. I absolutely love both of the lead characters, and this movie made me love them even more. This film is FULL of twists, turns, surprises, and sock and awe. If you have a sister, bring her with you, because it will show you in the end how connected sisters are. I know after watching it I was extremely happy God gave me two people I can call sister. The best thing about the film is that it's a true story. They can't make this stuff up. It's a story I will NEVER forget and I honestly may want to own this movie. Loved it. A

Penelope

I didn't know what to expect when I walked into Penelope. As the movie started out, I wasn't too sure, a curse and a pig nose? It seemed childish and silly. Unbelievably so, half way through I realized the plot was really well developed and I was genuinely curious as to what was coming next. There were a few twists toward the end that really made me smile, things I didn't see coming. The characters were believable-AND lovable. It's not exactly realistic, but it has a great message. It's a movie you can take your kids to and everyone really, seriously enjoy it. I would recommend this movie to any person, young or old. A

Definitely, Maybe and College Road Trip

Definitely, Maybe (Age: 13, Language, Sexual Jokes)
First off, I had low expectations for this movie. I thought it might be entertaining but that's about it. I was pleasantly surprised. I really dislike "We're in love and everything works out" movies, because it isn't reality. But this movie seemed pretty down-to-earth in terms of plot, the characters were incredibly believable. The story has a pleasant "twist" in the end as well. I really enjoyed this movie. A-

College Road Trip (All Ages)
This movie looked really stupid and cheesy, and well-I was half right. It was cheesy, but also had a charm to it and a few funny parts. At points it took itself a little too seriously, and at other points much too silly-but then again, it's like a child's movie and that is expected. For a twenty year old, I wouldn't really recommend it; for a child I would highly recommend it. I went with an 11 year old and he thought it was very funny. It's hard for me to put a grade on this movie because it's so out of my element, but putting myself in the element of the movie, I'd give it a higher score than my enjoyment would give. B

Be Kind Rewind

Once again the previews were misleading, not that I thought it would be hilarious, but I thought it would be a comedy. Sure, there were definitely funny parts, but it wasn't really all that funny. It's about this old man about to lose his home/video store (only vhs), and by re-making popular movies his worker and friend try to save the business. Like I said, funny parts for sure, but not really a funny movie. Was it bad? Nope. It was pretty decent, but I wish I could have waited for the cheap show. B

Semi-Pro, Vantage Point and Jumper

Hello! Thanks for reading my first post! I'm Jenelle and I see a lot of movies, and I'm very opinionated. This makes for a decent movie critic. Although, my point is not to make a difference in Hollywood, but to let you know what I think is worth seeing or not. Nothing I state as my opinion is fact and you are more than welcome to disagree-and in fact, I'd love to hear if you do!

Vantage Point: Age appropriate: 14 (Violence, terrorism, language).
I was extremely excited to see this movie, the previews looked amazing. My first observation was that the main focus of the movie was right in the beginning, which could be good and also bad. I enjoyed seeing some veteran actors like Dennis Quaid. Forest Whitaker, and Sigourney Weaver, I knew that if the plot sucked, the acting would be good. Overall, the plot was very interesting...the first two or three times. You literally see the same exact scene from all of these peoples views, the movie rewinds and starts all over again. Each time the scene ends it leaves you hanging, wondering what's coming next. Yet, instead of building anticipation it left me feeling frustrated. This, of course, was not the emotion of everyone I was with. The ending of the movie felt rushed, to me, because the film spends half of your time re-telling one scene over and over. Overall, I think this movie is worth seeing, but not worth seeing more than once. B-

Jumper (Age Appropriate: 13, language for language and sex scene. A ridiculous sex scene!)
I was extremely excited to see this movie! The previews looked amazing! Well...at least the previews were amazing. This movie was decent, but had SO MUCH potential! It wasn't a horrible movie, but the directing sure was. The story was untold and rushed, the "love" was more like lust and really didn't make sense at all, and there wasn't as much focus on GOOD story lines (like his mother...) as their should have been. Honestly, I wish I would have waited until it was at the cheap show! Oh, and by the way-nothing is closed up at the end...at all. Diane Lane is an amazing actress who waisted her time! Her talents could have been used a lot better than they were. This movie didn't make much sense, and it didn't make much sense for me to waist my money or excitement on. C-

Semi-Pro (Age Appropriate: 17, language, sexual jokes, sex scene, retardation)
I knew from watching the previews that this movie probably wasn't so great. I was wrong, it was absolutely horrible. I was bored through the entire thing. What was Will Ferrell thinking? This is by far his worst movie. I did not, ONCE, break out laughing. I giggled through parts of it, sure, thank GOD or I'd walk out and wonder around until it was over. By the way, the romantic comedy 27 Dresses was a LOT funnier than this movie. I keep wishing I was like Hiro from Heroes so I could go back in time and stay home. In my professional opinion: DON'T SEE IT. I guess if you want to spend money to take a nap, go ahead. Although, I'd recommend Michael Clayton for that. The only thing better about Semi-Pro than Michael Clayton is that it was shorter. At least that movie had a plot done wrong, unlike Semi-Pro, which had the worst plot I've seen in a comedy in a while. Everyone say a little prayer for those going to see this movie, that they will come out with their eyes not gouged out. F
