Age-15
The title doesn't lie, this movie is clearly about smart people. More than anything its about their lack of smarts when it comes to being social. That description makes it seem like a documentary, its not. Its an artsy film, a very well done artsy film. It seems to know that, though. Some parts of the story push it a little and make you feel awkward. At first I saw that as a flaw, then I realized it proved the social handicap.
I guess you can say its a love story, too, but not really. It has to do with romance, but not so much.
I like this movie, it was fresh and realistic and took on a topic I don't believe I've seen a movie take on before. Bravo.

Horton Hears a Who
Horton Hears a Who (age: any)
First of all, don't avoid this movie because its directed toward children. Its hilarious.
Unlike most childrens movies, its not too long and it doesn't preach a liberal agenda. No, you won't walk out thinking about how building houses is killing our wild animals (Over the Hedge), or worrying about our polution killing penguins (happy feet). These issues may exist but our children don't need to be worried about it during a fun movie! Horton Hears a Who is fun and even a bit uplifting. I was laughing out loud during the entire movie. See this, and if you have a kid to bring along-bring them!! A

10,000 BC, The Bucket List, and 21
Sorry for the delay. I know I am missing a few movies that I have seen but that's okay. Since its been a while I don't want to guess on the ages that should see the movies. From now on I will update every Monday!
First of all 10,000 BC was extremely long. It was slow and needed some more excitement to keep me interested. I like the basic idea, though. The movie had decent affects. I would wait to rent it, if anything at all. D
Secondly The Bucket List is worth seeing. The acting is awesome, and the basic moral of the story is one worth learning. On top of that there is a great mix of pulling emotion from you and making you laugh. See it. I doubt you'll regret it! B+
Lastly this week is 21. See it, right now! I loved this movie. The story is great, the acting is even better, and the directing was a bit cliche but talented. I don't think you will find much to complain about at all. I would love to buy this movie when it comes out! Bring your friends. A

The Other Boleyn Girl
The Other Boleyn Girl (Age: 16, a lot of sex scenes and sex talk, some violence)
I didn't have a clue what to expect with this movie because I hadn't heard much of it. I knew the actors in it so I was assuming it was decent. I absolutely love both of the lead characters, and this movie made me love them even more. This film is FULL of twists, turns, surprises, and sock and awe. If you have a sister, bring her with you, because it will show you in the end how connected sisters are. I know after watching it I was extremely happy God gave me two people I can call sister. The best thing about the film is that it's a true story. They can't make this stuff up. It's a story I will NEVER forget and I honestly may want to own this movie. Loved it. A

Penelope
Penelope (Age: 9, some language, sexual jokes, and alcohol use)
I didn't know what to expect when I walked into Penelope. As the movie started out, I wasn't too sure, a curse and a pig nose? It seemed childish and silly. Unbelievably so, half way through I realized the plot was really well developed and I was genuinely curious as to what was coming next. There were a few twists toward the end that really made me smile, things I didn't see coming. The characters were believable-AND lovable. It's not exactly realistic, but it has a great message. It's a movie you can take your kids to and everyone really, seriously enjoy it. I would recommend this movie to any person, young or old. A

Definitely, Maybe and College Road Trip
Definitely, Maybe (Age: 13, Language, Sexual Jokes)
First off, I had low expectations for this movie. I thought it might be entertaining but that's about it. I was pleasantly surprised. I really dislike "We're in love and everything works out" movies, because it isn't reality. But this movie seemed pretty down-to-earth in terms of plot, the characters were incredibly believable. The story has a pleasant "twist" in the end as well. I really enjoyed this movie. A-
College Road Trip (All Ages)
This movie looked really stupid and cheesy, and well-I was half right. It was cheesy, but also had a charm to it and a few funny parts. At points it took itself a little too seriously, and at other points much too silly-but then again, it's like a child's movie and that is expected. For a twenty year old, I wouldn't really recommend it; for a child I would highly recommend it. I went with an 11 year old and he thought it was very funny. It's hard for me to put a grade on this movie because it's so out of my element, but putting myself in the element of the movie, I'd give it a higher score than my enjoyment would give. B

Be Kind Rewind
Be Kind Rewind (Age: 12, some language and sexual jokes)
Once again the previews were misleading, not that I thought it would be hilarious, but I thought it would be a comedy. Sure, there were definitely funny parts, but it wasn't really all that funny. It's about this old man about to lose his home/video store (only vhs), and by re-making popular movies his worker and friend try to save the business. Like I said, funny parts for sure, but not really a funny movie. Was it bad? Nope. It was pretty decent, but I wish I could have waited for the cheap show. B
